Greetings in the strong name of Jesus Christ! My name is Pastor Josh and from my family to yours we want you to know how very excited we are you have chosen to worship here at Glendale Global Methodist Church! We can’t wait to meet you.
Our church is located at 3315 Glendale Road, Bybee, TN (see the map at the bottom of this page). If you aren’t from the area, GPS navigation is your friend! However, we must warn you, if you are coming from Morristown/I-81 direction on State Route 160, your GPS may tell you to turn on Sawyer Hollow or perhaps even bring you up Glendale Rd by the Nolichucky River. These routes are for the more….adventurous. The easier, if slightly longer, route is to continue on SR-160 to Briar Thicket Rd. This route will take you by the Briarwood Ranch Safari Park.
Worship services start at 9:00 AM on Sunday mornings. You may want to arrive a few minutes early just so we get a chance to say hello before services begin. However, if you do arrive a few minutes late, don’t worry!
Worship begins with a call to worship by our Lay Speaker, Pam Holt. We greet one another and then Kathy Sawyer plays a meditation song while we light the candles on the altar. The candles are a physical reminder of the light of Christ which and His presence at our service.
We will then sing songs out of our hymnals and pray together as a congregation. A time for sharing is offered if anyone has a song they want to sing or play, poem to recite, or testimony to share.
After this, I will read a scripture passage so bring your bible if you like to follow along. Following the scripture reading I will preach a Spirit led sermon based on the scripture reading of the day. Children may choose to leave with Mrs. Pam for a children’s time during the sermon if they prefer that over staying in the sanctuary. My feelings will only slightly be hurt (just kidding).
If you happen to visit on the first Sunday of the month, you will have the opportunity to celebrate Holy Communion with us after the sermon. We welcome all who sincerely repent of their sins and are seeking God to join us at the table regardless of their past or denominational affiliations.
At the conclusion of the worship service, I hop in my car and head to Liberty Hill Methodist in Morristown, TN where I also serve as the appointed Pastor. The rest of the congregation retires to the Fellowship Hall where they have Sunday School, coffee, and yummy goodies.
